Born in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, Sarangadhara Venkata Reddy Macha grew up with a burning desire to see his motherland free from colonial rule. His journey towards becoming a key figure in India's independence movement is an inspiring tale of determination and courage.

Driven by his passion, Macha joined various underground nationalist organizations and played an active role in spreading awareness about the oppressive British regime. He organized secret meetings, distributed pamphlets, and was involved in the planning of protests and demonstrations.

The Salt Satyagraha and Beyond

One of the defining moments in Sarangadhara Venkata Reddy Macha's revolutionary journey came during the Salt Satyagraha, a nonviolent civil disobedience campaign led by Mahatma Gandhi. Inspired by Gandhi's philosophy of resistance, Macha actively participated in the movement and was instrumental in organizing protests in his region.

His leadership skills and dedication caught the attention of prominent freedom fighters, and Macha soon became an integral part of the Indian National Congress. He played a crucial role in the Quit India Movement, encouraging people to join the call for independence and standing up against British tyranny.

Capture and Incarceration

Despite his relentless efforts, Sarangadhara Venkata Reddy Macha was eventually captured by the British authorities. He was subjected to brutal torture but refused to divulge any information about his fellow freedom fighters or the movement's plans. His resilience and unwavering spirit became a symbol of hope for countless Indians who aspired for a free and independent nation.

Macha spent several years in prison, enduring physical and emotional hardships. But even behind bars, he continued his fight for independence. He wrote numerous letters and articles, shedding light on the plight of his fellow prisoners and demanding justice and freedom for all.

Legacy and Recognition

Despite his significant contributions, Sarangadhara Venkata Reddy Macha's name remains relatively unknown in the mainstream narrative of India's struggle for independence. However, his untiring efforts and selfless dedication to the cause continue to inspire generations.

The sacrifices made by individuals like Macha paved the way for a free and independent India. Their stories of bravery and resilience need to be acknowledged and celebrated to ensure that their legacy lives on.

Today, as we commemorate the heroes of India's independence movement, let us not forget the inspiring tale of Sarangadhara Venkata Reddy Macha. His unwavering commitment to the cause of freedom serves as a reminder of the power of ordinary individuals to bring about extraordinary change.

Two years ago I completed it and it is ready to publish. My manuscript is a folk story of 13th century and there is a play in Telugu and movie on the same title and story in Telugu. Telugu play was written by Sri Vishnubhatla Subramanyeshwaram in1913, but by my manuscript is not exactly the imitation of it and most of it is a free translation. The Telugu play was written in 1913 and staged in July of 1913 by “Bejawada Natakasamity” in those days. It is suitable to read by all group of people.
Plot: Raja Raja Narendra is the king of Ranmahendravaram, a part of South India of 13th century. He has only son Sarangadhara. The king is aged; he wanted to coronate his son soon. Due to a problem in his tribal region the king left the kingdom to his son for few days, he went to forests to save the Tribals. When the king returned from the forests unexpected incident took place.
The king has two wives. His younger wife Chitrangi is a middle aged lady waiting for a chance to runaway with Sarangadhara, the prince who knows her as only his stepmother. But she was the first bride intended to marry him. She was passionate and fall in love with him without seeing him. Even the prince does not know all this.
Sarangadhara’s aged father was passionate to Chitrangi’s beauty and married her as second wife. Since then she is leading an unhappy life with the king. She is waiting for the chance to remarry the prince or wanted to lead an illicit life with him. She trapped him and successful to bring him to her palace but failed in her effort.
As her secrets are known to Sarangadhara she started blackmailing him though he did not accept her. So she intended to take revenge on the prince by telling con-coated story to the king. The angry king ordered the butchers to amputate his own son.
The death news of the prince transformed dramatically the king and Chitrangi, but he is saved by a saint and brought to the palace. They were united and happy.
